Helmet Cameras with microwave picture transmission

A range of helmet-mounted cameras for military, police and fire service use.

Britannia 2000 has developed a range of helmet and body-worn camera systems for the Military , Police and Fire Service use. The cameras can be built into a user-supplied helmet or mounted on a side attachment. The attachment places the camera at eye level and can be mounted on the left or right of the helmet.

For Fire Brigade and Public Order applications, the camera does not interfere with breathing apparatus (BA) and fits inside the helmet visor. The system is in service with UK Fire Brigades.

For military applications, the camera does not interfere with respirators.

Pictures from the camera can be recorded on to a belt-worn miniature video recorder and also tramsmitted back to a control vehicle using a proven body-worn microwave video transmission system. Antennae for the transmission system are either built in to the helmet or belt mounted. The antennae are flat patches and do not affect operational efficiency

Each transmission system can accomodate two cameras as standard. An indicator shows the wearer which camera is transmitting. A thermal imager can also be used with the system and interface cables are available for most manufacturers models.

The range of the transmission system varies with the operational enviroment, but free space range is in the excess of 1km. Vehicle or portable repeater stations can extend this range up to 80km depending on topograghy.

All Britannia 2000 helmet camera systems (HCS) are compatible with the MAVIS camera control receiver and Surveillance Cases.

Each HCS can be set to a unique frequency. Multiple HCS can report back to a single receiver station. 16-Channel receivers are used in all Britannia Systems and multiple cameras can be monitored by a single receiver station. Where concurrent reception from more than one HCS is required, more than one receiver can be fitted in to a receiver station.

Audio transmission alongside the video is standard.

Fitted into the front of a user-supplied helmet, normally between the lining and the shell. Rear connector for power/video/audio(option).

Monochrome CCD camera, ¼in 380 TV lines resolution. 25mm square and 100mm long. Complete with bracket that positions camera at eye level on one side of the helmet. Connects to battery pack or microwave transmitter using single curly table.

2505 Firefighters Helmet Camera System with Microwave Transmission

Side-mounted colour camera, 320 TV line resolution. Sealed against ingress of moisture. 25mm square x 100mm long. Heat resistant connection cable to microwave link. Link frequency user defined between 900Mhz and 3.0Ghz, including UK Home Office frequencies. 16-Channel transmitter operating from +12vdc. Operating range 1km open ground, approximately 200-300m built-up areas, depending on building. Camera fits behind visor and enables BA to be worn.

2505SF Special Forces/SWAT Team Helmet Camera System

Removable side-mounted camera system, to enable different magnification cameras to be used as well as body worn cameras. System is supplied with colour helmet suitable for CQB applications. Higher magnifications for other operations can be supplied. Camera is 25mm square and 100mm long. Belt-worn battery pack and antenna system. Interface to radio systems available for sound to be sent, along with pictures, for recording at control. System can also be used with weapon-mounted cameras.

BODY WORN SYSTEMS
BWCH1 Black webbing chest harness

Black webbing chest harness to mount compact microwave transmitters, cameras and other ancillary equipment. Harness webbing conceals internal wiring. Harness places cameras at sternum. Adjustable side buckle and over shoulder straps. For use with special cameras or helmet cameras.

BWBP1 Black webbing belt

Black webbing waist belt to carry battery pack and ruggedised Captor video recorder. Adjustable buckle. Single cable connection to BWCH1 camera harness. Concealed wiring. For use with special cameras or helmet cameras.

BWBP2 Black Webbing Belt

Black webbing waist belt to carry battery pack and microwave transmitter (or 2 battery packs). Adjustable buckle. Single cable connection to BWCH1 camera harness. Facility for built in antennae. Concealed wiring. For use with special cameras, helmet cameras or weapons mounted cameras.

BWCP1 Black webbing body harness

Black webbing upper body harness which includes the features of BWCH1 and BWBP1 above in a single harness. For use with special cameras or helmet cameras.

BMVEST Battle Jacket
