Britannia
2000 developed the HideBox at the specific request of a customer who needed
a reasonably powerful colour video/audio transmitter, along with a
microphone, battery and camera mounted in a simple-to-use box with no
external adjustments. The standard camera fitted is a monochrome pinhole
camera.
The HideBox
uses NiMh, rechargeable batteries which do not suffer from a `memory"
effect which NiCad batteries exhibit. It can be left on charge using the
special charger, and taken off the shelf for immediate deployment. The
HideBox is fitted with a battery test switch which will indicate the
battery status using Red, Yellow and Green LEDs.
The 2100mah
battery pack is sufficient for around 8 hours continuous use. To extend the
deployment time, either additional packs can be used or the optional
movement detector can be fitted. When the PIR detects any movement in the
scene, the transmitter is switched on and remains on for a preset period
after movement has stopped. An external alarm generator can also trigger the
HideBox.
The
HideBox can also act as a power source and transmitter for any other
12vdc camera. Simply plug it into the auxiliary socket on the HideBox, and
the video will over-ride the internal pinhole camera and can be transmitted
to the receiver station. |
