The 2122 series
cameras are designed to be used where a radar, or weapon system, requires a
precision boresighted camera for integration into an electro-optional
system. The cameras are supplied complete, in a sealed and pressurised
housing with sunshield and mounting baseplate. The housing contains the CCD
camera, lens and remote control receiver. To eliminate the number of lines
through slip rings, the camera requires only power, data (2) and video
(composite or YC). The built in remote controller controls all lens
functions, washer and wiper. An optional preset control allows preset wide,
medium and narrow fields of view to be preset and called up from the
keyboard (or serial link).
The 2122 will
accomodate a wide variety of CCD sensors, including high -resolution
monochrome, PAL/YC, NTSC/YC and 2nd or 3rd Gen intensifiers. A common option
is colour by day and 3rd Gen by night, with an automatic changeover system.
The housing can accept large aperture lenses and can be supplied to fit
specified optical assemblies. Camera/lens alignment can be carried out in
workshops using a 2nd line set up jig, and then installed in to the camera
housing. A precision location system enables camera/lens combinations to be
replaced on the radar or weapon system without the need to re-Boresight or
re-calibrate the camera. This is particularly useful where trials dictate
different camera/lens combinations and significantly reduces MTTR, in the
unusual event of a failure, when spares are held in stores.

The standard
camera/lens system is a 460 TV line PAL/YC camera fitted with a 54X motorised
zoom lens. The lens will zoom from 9.5mm through to 256mm, giving horizontal
fields of view from 1.43° through to 38.6 ° (nom). The built in motorised X2
extender gives further range increase up to 512mm (0.72°). Use of smaller format
sensors gives proportionately smaller fields of view and higher effective
magnification. External range of X1.5,X2 and X3 can be fitted to increase the
magnification.
Where colour by
day/intensified by night systems are required, the standard camera lens system
can be augmented with a supplementary changeover system. The changeover system
is placed between the camera and lens. This can be done locally in the
workshops. During daylight hours the changeover system is inactive and the
images are passed through it from the lens to the camera using a clear optical
field lens. When the light falls to around 100 lux (nominal and adjustable), the
changeover system rotates the field lens out of the path and exchanges it for a
3rd generation intensifier with relay lens. The changeover system is a complete
standalone unit and available as a field fitted option.
A full console
can be supplied complete with 14" monitor or twin 9" monitors, ruggedised Video
Cassette Recorder, Screen Writer (to insert date/time information and externally
generated captions), and control panel. When used in conjunction with a moveable
platform such as the VOS PT461, automatic search & acquisition, preset positions
and surveillance sweeps can be initiated from the control console.
